Speaking of Jesus: the art of not-evangelism

Just finished reading Speaking of Jesus by Carl Medearis and would recommend it, if you promise not to get mad at me if you end up mad at what Carl wrote.  It’s a challenging book and I would like to have a discussion with the writer to clarify some of the things he said, but overall, it was well worth my time.  (Check out it’s EFS Rating)

As the back cover of the book says, Christianity in Carl’s opinion, “…has grown into something that is rarely attractive, frequently divisive, and all too often embarrassing.”  Instead, he suggests we focus on the Savior who was and always will be pure, and not on the church that mankind has tried to pollute over the years.

Anyone else read Speaking of Jesus?  What did you think?
